Starting high in the central valley we’ll immediately get away from the traffic and noise and head right out towards the area of Arenal where the powerful Arenal Volcano stands strong. You will paddle 7 different rivers; visit the world renowned hot springs at the base of one of the world’s most impressive volcano, submerge in the cool waters of rivers that stream out of forests that go far beyond what your eyes can see. Exuberant flora and fauna will be seen, proper of tropical latitudes. A wide variety of species found no where else in the globe.

"SEVEN JOURNEY RIVER” ITINERARY:

Day I – Upon arrival to San José city we will waste no time and head towards the town of La Fortuna situated on the skirts of one of the most beautiful volcanoes in the world, the Arenal Volcano. We will visit the Fortuna waterfall on horseback, a fun filled afternoon!

Day II – Early rise to head towards our first canoe journey floating on the waters of Río Arenal.

Day III – Río Peñas Blancas will host us today. At the end of the day we will enjoy the soothing thermal waters at Valdí hot springs while observing the impressive lava flows of the volcano at the distance.

Day IV – We will drive to Laguna Lagarto lodge close to the Caño Negro river where we will do some bird watching and learn from one of our naturalist guides who will give us a lecture on environmental topics.

Day V – Caño Negro river, one of the rivers with the most biodiversity in the country, we will see many species of birds and animals along side the river. We will also paddle Rio Frio, an amazing river.

Day VI – We will put the paddles down and hike along paths located in the depths of the rainforest.

Day VII – We will ride towards Sarapiqui where we will do some hiking during the afternoon at the OET wildlife refuge.

Day VIII – We will paddle the Puerto Viejo river, a river not so often visited by tourists where we will be literally alone with the river and its surroundings.

Day IX – The Río Sarapiqui is one of the most impressive rivers in Costa Rica. After paddling the Sarapiqui river we will head back to San Jose where we will go out for dinner and enjoy some tropical dancing in some of the local clubs.

Day X – We will depart towards the airport after breakfast.
