From Summit to Sea

Costa Rica is one of the most arresting locations for mountain biking in the world. It’s said that if flattened, Costa Rica would have a larger territory than Texas. You can imagine the kind of terrain awaiting biking adventurers.

You will ride to the top of volcanoes and along amazing cornices, down hills that will take you from shivering to sweating within minutes and through roaring rivers; from above the clouds to the soothing sound of the waves crashing against the sandy beaches of the Caribbean coast.

“From Summit to Sea” An Epic Adventure - Itinerary:

Day 1 - Arrival
Euforia Expeditions' representatives will meet you at the airport and take you around for a first glimpse of Costa Rica. You will be taken to the hotel where you can drop off your things and get ready for a ride downtown where you will enjoy some sightseeing with a local guide. Before heading towards the first location we will check all your gear at night and make sure that everything needed for the expedition is in place.

DAY 2 - irazu volcano - turrialba volcano - downhill to aquiares 
This is an outstanding ride, as scenic as it gets. Imagine the sun rising on the Caribbean coast, behind the Turrialba Volcano, while peddaling your bike at the top of the Irazu Volcano, overseeing a sea of clouds rising from the rainforest on the lower lands... Day 2 takes you from 3400 meters above sea level to 800 meters in 7 hours of riding, an astonishing downhill to the town of Aquiares near Turrialba.

Day 3 - guayabo - rios tropicales camp
A beautiful morning ride through ancient roads, highways to indigenous communities that used to inhabit the surrounding areas.

Day 4 - rio reventazon crossing - rafting the pacuare - transpo to caribbean coast
Today we will see two of the strongest rivers in Costa Rica, the Reventazon and the Pacuare. We will cross the Reventazon river and ride over the mountains to reach the shores of the Pacuare River, ranked fourth in the world for it's amazing white water. We will raft Class IV rapids today!

After rafting a tasty meal at Ríos Tropicales camp and off we go towards the Caribbean coast. The town of Puerto Viejo is our final destination.

At night a bonfire and the soothing chanting of the waves.

Day 5 - caribbean route - punta mona - gandoca
Early rise for our final ride of the trip, we will reach the Gandoca park station near the border with Panama. This is a 3 - 4 hour ride after which we will be taken back to Puerto Viejo by boat for a delicious coastal meal and an afternoon at the beach.

At night a Caribbean celebration in town!

Day 6 - reef snorkeling - return to san jose - closing ceremony
Today we head out to water submerging amidst the reef located south of Puerto Viejo, near the town of Manzanillo, renowned for it's crystalline waters and amazing reef.

After lunch we head back to San Jose where the rest of the team await us with a warm meal and lively closing ceremony.

Day 7 - departure

Euforia Expeditions is La Ruta de Los Conquistadores' official tour operator. Our experienced guides are amidst Costa Rica's best adventure guides, mountain bikers, trail runners and adventure racers.

Recommendations to bring:

• Ask for the recommendations and requirements documents before the expedition. These recommendations may make the physical preparation and logistics for you trip.

Payment Policies:
All packages may be reserved by depositing at least 50% of the posted price and the remaining 50% may be paid up to 30 days before your trip.

Cancellation Policies:
If for any reason you would have to cancel your trip you should notify Euforia Expeditions at least 30 days before your trip, Euforia Expeditions will give back your payment, minus $200.00 for administrative charges.

If the notification is made less than 30 days before your trip, Euforia Expeditions will deposit 50% of what has been deposited minus $200.00 for administrative charges.

Euforia Expeditions will not refund charges nor incur in additional costs in the following cases:

• When for any reason a flight is postponed or cancelled by the airline or any other authorized entity.
• When for any reason the client does not arrive on the date and time set for the beginning of the expedition.
