Euforia Expeditions

Combining our love for nature and the passion for adventure, we designed a fresh concept that seeks to satisfy both mental and physical well-being by incorporating local cultures, sustainable and adventure tourism and ecotourism. Nature is our playground in every exclusive expedition we have created for you.

We are constantly and meticulously exploring new areas so far untouched by other traditional ecotourism or adventure racing expeditions.

For an athlete, adventure racing is the ultimate high in sporting events. It integrates several sporting disciplines, such as: kayaking, rafting, swimming, land navigation, mountain biking, trekking, climbing, rope works and others, making it the maximum challenge for racers.

We have worked hard to organize several adventure races - from one- and two-day races to as many as 80 hours of continuous racing. These activities seek to both promote adventure racing in Costa Rica and enhance the performance of each competitor by pushing them beyond personal limits, as happened in our previous race, the 1st edition of the Costa Rica Solo Adventure Race. This was the first Solo Adventure Race in the world at an international level, with the participation of some of the best adventure racers from around the world. This experience has given Euforia a great deal of knowledge in the preparation of logistics for each expedition that make of all adventures unforgettable journeys in comparison to traditional or classic tourist packages.

Our reason for being

Our primary goal is to provide our clients with an integral travel experience that is like no other, drawing upon direct contact with nature and deep interaction with local culture.

We not only provide challenging expeditions in the wilderness, we also incorporate visits and activities with local communities. Interaction with these communities is an important aspect for both travelers and community members. It is a vision of sustainable development, sustainable tourism and environmental awareness. We understand that the experience of travel can be greatly enriched by these types of exchanges and through these relationships, we can work to help meet some of the many needs of local communities.

There are many places in Costa Rica not well-known to foreign travelers. Large-scale tourism largely ignores these out-of-the-way communities. We want to give you something more than the average "tour", we strive to make your expedition a unique experience by taking you to these spectacular places. As a result, your cultural and social awareness will grow.

We have been hard at work developing new options for open-minded travelers who have grown tired of cliché vacation packages. We cater to those who are searching for direct contact with nature. Our clients have left the city behind in search of oceans, majestic mountains, rivers and waterfalls – they've escaped the office to discover new cultures.

For whom is Euforia Expeditions designed?

Our travel packages are designed for two types of travelers:

Those who believe that life is too short to be spent in front of the television set (learning about other cultures and watching adventure travel channels is interesting, but why not live it with a first hand experience?); and those that strive to push themselves beyond their own personal limits, seeking adrenaline and adventure in exotic locations.

Accommodations

Euforia offers two options:

• Experiencing local culture by living with local residents. Through a combination of local hotels and residents’ homes, travelers eat, sleep and play in an environment designed around cultural immersion.

• The other option is to enjoy nature and local culture by day, and relaxation by night in accommodations of the highest quality in the areas of travel, including four- and five-star hotels, depending on the region.

Our style

Because we tailor our expeditions to the needs of each group, we prefer small groups of up to eight people.

We will take you to places that are not spoiled by mass tourism. You probably wońt find these locations with other more typical and commercial travel companies. In fact, we use all-terrain vehicles to get you there.

And you have at your disposal years of combined adventure experience. Our certified guides, each trained in first aid, are experts in extreme and adventure sports, as well as cultural and environmental tourism.

Itineraries for the more challenging and demanding treks are designed exclusively by the Director of Expeditions, who has carefully chosen expedition routes based on years of experience and exploration in the various regions we visit.

Another important reason we choose to work with small groups is our respect for and commitment to the environment. The areas we travel to are unique, and we are committed to keeping them that way. We always seek to have as minimal impact as possible.
